The composition of the intriguing unraveling of Binny’s painful progress into womanhood has depth and rich correlations accomplished by flashbacks to present. This was one of the most effective uses of past history entwined with current developments in an artful manipulation of cause and effect highly laced with strong emotions. As the results of the impact of another’s sins press upon each character, bold, empathetic portraits emerge and the reader can now respect and embrace each character’s part in the final overcoming of so many unexpected challenges. The lyrical depth of detail of feelings, environment, private thoughts and reactions, facial expressions and perspectives was powerful.
